Virtual Learning CommunitySM
Beyond placing a number of courses online for learners, many companies prefer to establish an online community of learners. Technology can be easily applied to create virtual learning community where all learners can research courses, view other employees' comments regarding specific courses and materials, download job aids or other learning support materials, and read articles highlighting new course releases. A learning community can foster a supportive environment that results in a facilitated instructional experience. Students quickly begin to rely on the community for valuable, highly engaging learning experiences that will catalyze success both related to the specific subject matter and to their broader professional growth.
The Virtual Learning CommunitySM is a customized learning environment that incorporates client "branding" to provide students a single point of access to all education and education related materials. Creating a sense of community is critical to encouraging a connection to online education as well as engaging the students to take advantage of all available learning delivery systems.
The following is an example of a custom Virtual Learning CommunitySM that includes the following features: access to online training, course reviews, training tools, online training previews, and a status center. The client is Avon who is in the process of launching a new line of makeup called "mark." aimed specifically at high school and college aged students.
